Sarah BRIGHTMAN est une grande soprano, une artiste anglaise célèbre outre-Manche pour ses interprétations sur scène ("Phantom of the Opera" ou "Sunset Boulevard)" et de grands albums orchestrés entre pop et opéra. Elle a eu des débuts flamboyants à 18 ans comme danseuse et chanteuse disco, avec le groupe Hot Gossip et leurs chorégraphies suggestives.
Ils enregistrent en 1978 cet hymne écrit par Calvert & Hughes, qui reprend de nombreuses références science-fictives outre le titre dans le texte et l'orchestration (Flash Gordon, Star Wars, Star Trek, 2001 L'odyssée de l'espace, Rencontres du 3ème type...).
Ce titre sera un hit du Top Ten dans toute l'Europe et sera suivi d'autres chansons SF (Lost in Space, Love in a UFO) avec des groupes nommés "Sarah Brightman And the Starship Troopers" ou "Sarah Brightman And The Aliens"...
